Biography:
Born July 7, 1966, to Stardust Sanderson, a member of the Fortesmo Gypsy band, who had just set up camp in Bethel, NY. Landowner Max B. Yasgur invited the group to stay on his dairy farm after hearing of their exceptional knowledge and techniques of handling cow dung.
The group occupied the premises from October of '65 through August of '66 and returned in July of '69 to aid the promoters in preparing the land and the treats for the festival. Among the methods the group employed were waste-to-energy, land application and direct fertilizer to their now famous blend of herbal remedies known as "Purple Haze"
Jeffrey's patronage is unclear. It was a time of free love and Stardust gave him the sirname of the group, perhaps to maintain the dignity of Mr. Yasgur who had grown quite fond of her evening cooking.
